As my Bach practice grew, I realized that I was seeing almost equal numbers of animal and human clients. Caring owners suffer when their pets are ill or unhappy and the problem becomes compounded since animals often reflect their owner’s behavior and feelings. I felt that expanding my practice to support both animals and their owners would ensure the best possible care for both.
Heather Simpson, with a PhD in Animal Behavior Science, together with her husband Ross, founded the Natural Animal Center in 1997 in Sussex, England. The NAC ran popular animal courses in conjunction with the Bach Centre to prepare Bach Registered Practitioners for the post-graduate Animal Practitioner’s Certification. Heather, sadly, passed away in 2018, and in 2021 the NAC equine business was sold, but Ross retained the ownership of the Bach for Animals Course.
This class, which was migrated to an online environment in 2023, is now offered as a distance learning course. To learn more about this program, please click here.
I completed the postgraduate course and received the Bach Certificate as an Animal Practitioner in 2025 and I am now registered as a BFRAP (Bach Foundation Registered Animal Practitioner) with the Bach Centre. In addition to working primarily with cats and dogs, my other animal clients have included rabbits, hedgehogs, horses, and turtles.
